How we handle your photos
Keepsake is an invite-only preview. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to the photos, clips and words you give us.
What you give us
- The photos and clips you choose to upload.
- The few sentences you write about the film, and the feel and length you pick.
- Your answers to the permission questions (that you may use the photos, that the people shown are OK with it, and whether children appear).
- Your invite. We don't ask for your name, email or a password to make a film.
How it's used
Only to make your film. Each film is made on its own private, isolated computer that's created for your film and deleted afterwards. That computer has no general internet access.
To understand your photos and plan the edit, the AI editor sends your written brief and some images and video frames to our AI model providers (Anthropic and Baseten). Your files are stored on Amazon Web Services.
No person reviews your photos or your film. Films aren't public: only someone signed in with your invite can see them.
How long we keep it
- Photos and clips: deleted 30 days after upload.
- The finished film: deleted 60 days after it's made. Download it to keep it.
Your choices
Only upload photos and clips you have permission to use, and make sure the people in them are OK with being in a film. If children appear, a parent or guardian needs to agree. If you'd like something deleted sooner, or you have a question, ask the person who invited you.
